4 month Kellen
This is when it gets really good. Over the newborn issues, starting to sleep more, smiling a ton and learning to giggle. Still home from work, I just love this age.
I love the chin rolls, the arm rolls, the leg rolls. I love how soft his skin is and how he lets me kiss him all over.
I love how he looks at me like he's missed me so much even though it's only been a few minutes.
I love how he wants to hold my finger when he's nursing.
I love how he snuggles his face into my neck in the middle of the night after he's done eating.
I love his toes, I love his belly, I love his face.
I love this kid.
OK, just so everyone can see this cuteness for themselves, here's some video of Kellen. Just please ignore me, I sound ridiculous.
Five for Fynn
Fynn Elijah- 3 days
My first baby is 5 years old now. How does that happen so quickly? Wasn't it just yesterday that I was rocking him to sleep, urging him to walk, teaching him to talk.
Now he says the funniest things and makes me think about life in a way that I've never thought of before. I love looking at the world through his eyes.
Fynn- 1 year
Fynn - 2 years.
Fynn- almost 3 years
Fynn- 4 years
Fynn- 5 years
Watching him grow has been amazing. I feel so lucky to be his mommy.
This year, Fynn got a super cool big boy pedal bike. Which he still is not brave enough to try, 2 months later.
We had a rockin party at the Mountlake Terrace pool.
Where we played pirates.
And ate the awesomest pirate ship cake you've ever seen. (Made by none other than Ruth Irish)
Fynn, Here are the things that make you, you at 5 years old.
You weigh 42lbs and are 45inches tall!
You are a very expresive talker and like to put your hands up and move them in circles when you are explaining things. It makes you look very official and like you really know what you are talking about.
You play with every single one of your toys, always taking turns with all of them so they don't get jealous of each other. That also means mommy and daddy are almost constantly picking up every toy you own.
You love being read to, but even more you love when we make up stories to tell you. I've had to dig deep into my imagination to conjour up some stories to tell.
You love ice cream and popcicles
Your favorite breakfast is Rice Krispies with "good stuff" meaning sugar.
You hate soda, which doesn't make me sad at all! But you love juice and milk.
You'll eat raw lettuce with salt and just about anything we tell you that "you are too little for."
We told you that you couldn't put your froggies in your mouth anymore except at bedtime. For 2 days I watched you withdrawl from them like a crack addict, but after that, you were fine.
You are easily frustrated and like to give up when things get hard. We're trying to beat that out of you.
You love to wear "comfy pants" which are just sweat pants so I'm always searching for cute and stylish comfy pants. Not easy.
Your favorite movie right now is Puss and Boots.
You are obsessed with our I-pad, and can navigate it almost better than we can.
You've started to love taking showers.
You have a game we play at almost every dinner where we pretend food is dissapearing and we don't know where it's going. (hint: it's going into your tummy but we aren't supposed to know that).
You go to bed at 6:30 and sleep until 6 or 7am. Heavenly for your parents.
You call McDonalds, "Old McDonald's Farm". I love that.
You love, love, love being a big brother and are always interested in every cute thing Kellen does. You can't wait until he's big enough to play with you.
I have watched you grow bigger, stronger, smarter, and sweeter. I can't wait to watch you change even more. I love you Fynn. My big, big boy.

Kellen Jack Miles Siebert
I've been consumed in all respects. Emotionally, physically, mentally, socially. His name is Kellen and I just can't get enough. He's part of my every moment, awake and asleep. Which is why I've completely ignored this little blog. I'm no longer 33 weeks pregnant. In fact if any one is till wondering, the blessed event has happened. Had it not, I'd be almost a year pregnant right now with a 13lb baby. Ouch. Instead, I've simply been completely and utterly consumed with the little boy who arrived on December 5, at a perfect 38weeks weighing 7lbs 2oz and 20.5inches long. He came quickly and with very little warning. Had it not been for Ira who thankfully rushed me along, little baby K might have had a different birth story. Like in the car, or in an ambulance. Luckily we arrived at the hospital and greeted our little one just 2 hours later.
From birth, Kellen has been a mellow baby. He cried only briefly when the doctor placed him on my belly, just seconds old, and we gazed into each other's eyes. He looked around the room and at me as I was flooded with emotion. Here he was, my last baby, my second boy, my sweet little guy, finally here safe and sound. It was magical. Fynn met his little brother with great anticipation. I've never seen him smile quite so big as when he saw Kellen for the first time. Pride and wonder spilled out of his little body and as I watched my older son hold my infant son, I couldn't help but be swept away with love for them both. We spent a few days in the hospital sorting some newborn issues out, but finally on December 8th we arrived home to be a family.
Kellen's personality hasn't changed too drastically, except to say he's only become happier. He had a few hills to climb, RSV at only 3 weeks being one of them, but he's fought through and become a robust, smiley, playful little boy in only a few months.
None of us can quite get enough of him. And so you see now, why I'm completely and utterly. . . . consumed.

33 weeks and counting
Alright, so I haven't been the greatest about posting pictures of my rather enormous belly. Time just seems to slip by so quickly. But since this is the very last time I'll ever be seen with a belly quite this large (please shoot me if I end up with a beer belly that looks like this), I decided we needed a little photo shoot. So here I am. . . . with little Kellen occupying a lot of me.
Fynn's laughing at something Kellen said.
The Belly
My View
Sweet Kellen, I can't wait to meet you. You love to move and kick a lot which is my absolute favorite part of growing you inside me. I love that when people ask your big brother if it is a boy or a girl, Fynn says " My mommy is growing a boy." We all can't wait to see what you look like and what color your eyes will be. Please grow big and strong and safely inside, we'll be waiting excitedly when you decide it's time to come out!

Our Summer. . .In a nut shell
Seeing as it is September already and we are back in the swing of school, I thought I'd take advantage of the 3hrs I have all to myself today to actually post something on my blog. And since I completely ignored said blog the ENTIRE summer, I thought I should start with that. So here's just a little smattering of what we did July and August. (I don't even count June as summer anymore seeing as it does nothing but rain and school lasts until around the 25th! )
The first thing we did was to head down to Walla Walla. Home of the bestest Auntie and Uncle anyone could ask for. Fynn could ask for that is. For Ira and I, Walla Walla is a place of wonderful warmth and dryness when all it's doing is raining in Seattle. Oh and the home of the bestest sister/sister-in-law and brother-in-law this side of the Mississippi. They and their two crazy foxes (actually just some strange mix of German Shepard and who knows what else), and three cats, welcomed us to their home to stay for a few days of fun in the sun. Fynn rediscovered his love for running through the sprinkler naked. Ira took his best buddy/ brother-in-law out fishing. And Kate and I had fun doing what we do best. Talking, talking, and more talking. Usually accompanied by booze. We also braved the park on the 4th of July for some more fun. There we filled our bellies with junk food and tried not to cringe at the Jesus songs that were belted out by band after band. Fynn bounced in a few bouncy houses, said hello to some EMTs and firemen, and then we left for an evening of sophistication at one of the best wineries in Walla Walla. Fynn saw his first fireworks that night on the way home and was in awe.
Thanks to my wonderful friends, we took our first "camping trip" of the summer to Cannon Beach. We stayed in a beautiful house just steps away from the beach where we enjoyed watching the kids' legs go numb in the chilly Pacific ocean and sat back in our lounge chairs generally wrapped in a towel or blanket. Good thing the house was so nice because the weather didn't want to cooperate much. It rained, and rained, and rained. I guess no one told mother nature that is was the middle of JULY!!! Oh well, fun was had by all and the kids played their little hearts out, Fynn got a pedicure from not 1 but 2 women!! Meanwhile the other girls drank and I sat jealously watching them while sipping root beer, and snuggling little Carson Prentice. Wish I had more pics to show you, but I hardly picked up the camera. So, use your imagination for the rest.
Next on our Agenda. . . Camping with the girls at Fort Warden. Here I really don't have any pictures for you. Imagine a beach and a camp ground right across the path from the beach. Now imagine throngs of children racing around on bikes or feet. A little baby being passed around from woman to woman. Ice cream, candy, and juice galore. Lots of tents. Ira drinking shots from a baby bottle. Getting the picture? Great. It was a blast.
Some time between all this Ira and I managed to fit in a hot date to a zoo tunes concert. Brandi Carlisle hit the stage and we snuggled in with the throngs of people who also thought this would be a great date. She was awesome and Dave Mathews wondered down from his house in Wallingford to join her in a song. We lost it. It was super cool.
After this we headed to Sunny Florida where we all baked in the sun and 90 degree humid heat. . . and loved it. We hit Seaworld where we fed and touched dolphins (ok Ira and I did while Fynn cried in the back ground from fear), we watched Orcas jump out of the water and do tricks, and a million other totally awesome things. Fynn's favorite part? The Sea Lion pirate show, go figure. Then we headed to West Palm Beach where we spent everyday with this difficult decision: Pool first or Beach? Then switched it up after lunch. We saw Auntie Noellle and Cousin Gage, visited Miami Beach, and went to a sea turtle hospital. It rocked but we were all ready to come home after 10 days!
Me feeding and touching the dolphin while Fynn clings to me in fear.
"Shamu" or his impostor doing his thang
Baby Sea Turtles at the hospital
And this sums up the end. . Fynn passed out on my giant belly. Phewww.
Shortly after this we left for yet another camping trip. This time over the sound and onto an island to a little place called Lakedale Resort. Here we pitched our tent along side masses of yellow jackets who were mostly easy to get a long with but really liked our food, and my root beer. There were no fish in the lake to be caught, much to Ira's dismay, but we spent a few pleasant days next to the lake where the children got dirtier than I've ever seen them, and we got chatty with a semi-strange English woman and her husband. Fynn eventually was stung by one of those stinkin yellow jackets, so we hightailed it out of there to end our long summer of fun in the sun. Again, no pictures. Hopefully you can use your imagination.
And. . . . . scene. Our summer, in a nut shell.
